BREAKING THE TIME LIMITATION IN THE ENGLISH CLASROOM THOUGH THE USE OF FACEBOOK PAGE. A PRELIMINARY MODEL

A.       Background
Time allocation has always been a problem of English classes faced by English teacher all over the world. For example, teachers do not have enough time to cover materials in a lesson and students do not have enough time to practice English outside the classroom. This case becomes worse in countries where English is as a foreign language, such as in Indonesia. So, to break time limitation, teacher can utilize social networking to optimal English teaching which can be used wherever and whenever, in order students could practice their English by intensive interaction.  

B.        Definition of the Learning Method
The old method to learn is in the class, it has a limitation when students study English. It causes much time lose in class. So, a teacher should manage time well. If we compare with English course dissimilarity with situation. in course all of student must speak English but in classroom teach rare to student speak English, in another hand, when students want to learn English
they have to practice it.
As we know that learning English in the classroom is not effective enough; because learning process within it has time allocation, so, teacher has a problem in time limitation which he or she could not practice whole English activities such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing in the classroom.   
The key to speak English fluently for students is habitually and continually. From this article said that internet is the problem solver, because can search anything information, knowledge, etc. Some of social media in internet is helpful, like Facebook that can help them to improve and develop English skills.

C.    Why Facebook
Nowadays, social networking is the most popular online. Through this application, people could join other people from different countries. Pertinent to solve the problem of time limitedness is using Facebook. Due to the following reasons, facebook might be chosen to break time limitation. First, facebook is so much popular for most Indonesian teenagers as the data shows that there were additional 2.4 million new monthly astive users. Secondly, it is handy to operate; people could only use their cell phones to open their facebook account.
    
D.    Teaching Model
      Same with the title of this article is one of social media can help a time problem of English class. Yeah..Facebook is helpful why because in Facebook teacher can make a program especially for their student. And a teacher gives a exercise for student to update state and teacher correct the sentence or student correct each other. Also teacher can give them motivate to student one by one so teacher and student have a good relation and more communication.
Below is preparation to start the method:

E.     Advantages of this teaching model
·         Student will get many vocabulary
Because student must make sentences at the page and even they could chat each other. And if they find difficult words, they have to search its meaning to understand the sentences.  
·         Student will enjoyable
We can compare when student learns in class and outside. Student finds an interesting learning through facebook. Whereas in class they feel bored and get a pressure from teacher, whereas, study outside as in Facebook will make enjoy.  
·         Students have a lot of time to speak, write, and study more English (develop ability). We know that learning hour in the class is limited. So, Facebook can be used to help students grasping English. They may jot down everything in wall application of Facebook Page, chat one others by spoken English, and they are also able to learn about grammar through it.   

F.     The problems is faced in doing the method
To achieve the goal of this method, researcher found some problems namely:
·         This method only done for free writing. The researcher follows instruction of writing from Cahyono through prewriting, writing, revising, editing, and publishing. But through this method researcher could not reach his target according to Cahyono’s instruction; because students only write a sentence or two in their wall application and it did not involve any of the phase above; it was just a free writing with a main emphasis on grammar, emphasizing on the use of English in the real communicative function. So that, the activity in Page does not agreed called “Writing Page”. He found out this matter when he wanted to get scores their activity in the Page.
·         The feedback came out was not quite effective to create a learning atmosphere; which the feedback is to create writing on grammatical. The causes of this matter could be two: the feedback students received was not relevant with what they expected (mainly discussing others topics than the topics of writing or grammatical errors); or they did not really care about the feedback, especially when it talked about errors in grammar they made.

G.    Solution
From the problems above, teachers can overcome with the following way:
·         For student who does not agree to this activity, she or he perhaps have some reasons for it. The cause of this problem might cause the student felt force to open his or her facebook account. But teacher could overcome the matter with emphasize student that social networking (facebook page) might help him or her to improve writing skill.
    
H.    CONCLUSION
Based on the researcher experience, reflection, and students’ voices through the online survey, the use of Facebook Page in the English teaching and learning process was found out to be come promising for solving the time-limited issue in the traditional classroom. And the important things student can improve writing skills with structure. Facebook (and the internet in a more general sense) operates 24 hours a day; so, English teachers and students could topics of classroom discussion anytime and anywhere. Thus, it is strongly suggested that Facebook Page be incorporated in the future English classes.
